Egypt: A Tale of a Horrific Massacre 08-14-2013

The Egyptian security forces moved in to disperse the sit-ins in the different squares of Cairo and other cities. The results, as we expected it, was a bloody massacre. The death toll, according to different news agencies, is between 300-400 deaths and several thousands of injured.

Of course, this is not surprising to me or to you if you have been reading my previous posts. I repeatedly warned that the situation in Egypt was rapidly degrading, and the window of opportunity to resolve this crisis peacefully with a quick return to the democratic process was closing fast. Well, after today’s massacre that window is almost shut. There is still hope, but that hope, as of now, is on life support.

How can i describe and narrate today’s massacre? Well, there is no need to do that. I will let you assess the brutality of the security forces through this photo essay. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

You sound like you work for the Egyptian military or state security agency. You had several statements prepared in different languages. This is what we call a “canned answer”. I expected this answer from you because you are invested in defending something that everyone knows is indefensible. You are justifying the massacre of your own people in the name of national security. Hope you are proud of the bloodshed that you endorsed and sponsored. Even ElBaradei has given up on you and on general Al-Sisi. It’s very sad to see Egypt in the grips of some bloodthirsty generals.

I am only an Egyptian Muslim citizen I am only a teacher an English teacher but I have faith in Allah the one , respect and love my Prophet (Pbuh) , adore my dear Country, stand beside our Great Egyptian army and support General Al Si-si , the police and the Army had warned the MB so many times but they insisted on their violence under your supervision ,
so may I ask you a question ? if your Country was exposed to a campaign from 7 countries who support terrorism and your people began to defend their country even via words published to reveal the truth , will you accuse them of being spies and traitors of their country and that they are having money from the army or the police to defend their country ? or will you cast reflection on their loyalty to their country ? I am not defying you I am only trying to do my duty towards my country and reveal the truth our Great Army and the police protect us the Egyptian People from the MB Terrorists and their violence

Doesn’t the prophet and Qu’ran say that killing a muslin is “Haram”?

“And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein; and the Wrath and the Curse of Allah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him” (Surat An-Nisa 4:93)”

Your military, the one your support and love just killed more than 500 Muslims. You are supporting according to your own religion killers cursed by god.

      • August 16, 2013 at 3:16 am

And to answer your question: No i won’t call them traitors or spies? We have a guy called Edward Snowden who stole secret files from the NSA/CIA and published them for everyone to know. He’s not a traitor. He broke the law, but he’s not a traitor as far as the legal system is concerned. For some people, he is even a hero, although not to me.

We are a country of laws, due process, and freedoms. Everyone is free to say whatever he wants, especially in politics. This is called freedom of speech. We are a country where civilians command the military and the military is not allowed to intervene in civilian politics. We are a country where if you are a military or a police officer and you break the law, you are arrested, tried and if found guilty sentenced to jail. We don’t purposely kill our civilian population because they are protesting in our streets and squares. We don’t unleash snipers on them, and kill them like they are dogs. Your military just murdered 500 Egyptians. Are they all terrorists? Do you really believe that? For god’s sake, wake up.

      • August 16, 2013 at 1:55 am

so tell me one reason for your great campaign against Egypt and the Egyptian people since the death of that so-called Morsi while you neglect the terrorists MB who burn mosques and Churches, institutions , and kill innocent people ? if you really speak about justice why do you want to support those terrorists? what do you want from Egypt? why do you always neglect all laws to fulfill the aims of those criminals MB ? why do you keep the interfere in the Egyptian affairs ?

      • August 16, 2013 at 2:13 am

First of all, they are not terrorists. Second, they won 5 elections. You want to beat them and get them out of office, win elections. Don’t call on the military and turn your country into a bloodbath.

I will keep on interfering in your business because i am a taxpayer and my money is funding your bloody military. And tell your friends to come over here and debate me. I am not going anywhere.

Horrible!! Horrific!! Horrendous! What those military forces are doing to their civilians!!
The Turkish government had to evacuate tens of sit-ins and disperse hundreds of rallies without any losses of lives.
No matter what were their excuses, the military and their masters in the background wanted it to be this bloody and this disgusting even dis-braining! The only way they can escape justice and its harsh sentence is to engender more chaos and eliminate any possibility that common sense and normality come to the front!
They wanted the State of Emergency! They got it! They can now do whatever they want .. without anyone in the World budging its little pinky!!

    Farewell Egypt!

Go to Hell you Military and the Losers pseudo-liberals and anti-democracy behind you!

    • August 15, 2013 at 4:35 am

Good point about the Turkish security forces. Indeed, they dispersed several sit-ins without any loss of life. That’s the difference between a military dictatorship and a democracy
